Saturday 3rd February
We’re really looking forward to welcoming The Railsplitters back to Yorkshire after we hosted their triumphant packed-out concert to a 200-strong audience at Marsden Mechanics last spring. This time we’re bringing them to Sheffield where they’re sure to be a huge hit with the discerning gig-goers at the Greystones! This absolutely top notch five piece band plays a unique blend of Americana, bluegrass and folk/roots. Performing mostly original material, The Railsplitters initially found recognition as winners of the prestigious band competition at Rockygrass Festival in Colorado. Since then their star has risen steadily and they have toured extensively across the world, including two well received UK tours. The Railsplitters have released two acclaimed albums to date, with their third due to be released in late 2017. With outstanding musicianship on banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar and upright bass, their quirky, creative and modern version of bluegrass and acoustic roots is underpinned by superb songwriting and beautiful harmony singing.
True North Music is also proud to be booking the entire UK tour for The Railsplitters, so if you can’t make it to the Sheffield gig, look out for the full tour announcement which will be coming up soon here.
“The Colorado-based Railsplitters…impressed with superb vocal harmonies and instrumental dynamics that take bluegrass instrumentation into sophisticated pop songwriting as well as traditional folk and rock ‘n’ roll material.”
