The Greystones, Sheffield
Mile Twelve is an exceptionally talented young quintet, fast gaining recognition for outstanding performances in bluegrass and folk circles in the USA. The band has been on a swift rise since forming in 2014, with four members from the Eastern USA, plus one New Zealander. Mile Twelve has its roots in Boston, where three members studied at the fabled Berklee College of Music. This engaging young five-piece delivers breathtaking live performances which feature outstanding musicianship and vocal harmonies. Their entertaining live material includes some creative covers as well as their own acclaimed bluegrass and folk originals and a sprinkling of traditional songs. In October 2017 they released their debut full-length album “Onwards”, featuring almost all originals, and drawing on a range of diverse influences.
“Five accomplished bluegrass musicians who write, sing, and play like the wind – serious players who have serious fun. Mile Twelve is a group to watch in the coming decade!” – Tim O’Brien
Mile Twelve has toured throughout the USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia, and won the 2017 Momentum Award at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards. True North Music is delighted to be bringing the band over for their debut UK tour, including this gig in Sheffield!
