I’m really delighted to announce a very special gig at Sheffield Greystones on Saturday 30th July. Ron Block and Sierra Hull are two of the biggest stars on the American bluegrass scene. Ron is well known around the world for his long and successful career with Alison Krauss and Union Station. World class bluegrass banjo player, superlative guitarist, multiple Grammy winner, songwriter and singer – Ron’s musical pedigree is extensive and features several solo releases as well as his award winning track record with AKUS. His fourth and latest solo album Hogan’s House of Music features a mix of original and classic tunes, Ron’s first all-instrumental collection.
Mandolin prodigy, talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Sierra Hull first appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage aged just 11. Now in her 20s, this acclaimed rising star of bluegrass & roots music recently released her latest highly praised album Weighted Mind, produced by Bela Fleck. Ron & Sierra have been performing together as a duo for several years and we’re really excited to be bringing them to the Greystones for what is set to be a wonderful evening of music!
