We are delighted to welcome Cheshire trio Jaywalkers to The Carlile Institute in Meltham this November, as part of their album release tour (their fourth full-length release). Anyone familiar with this outstanding band will know that they combine the highest standards of musicianship with a lighthearted, fun onstage presence. Influenced by folk, bluegrass, Western swing, jazz, blues and more, Jaywalkers have come to be recognised as one of the most talented and entertaining young bands on the acoustic roots scene, since reaching the finals of the BBC Young Folk Awards back in 2008.
“Jaywalkers effortlessly blend British and American folk traditions to create something arguably greater than either.” – Acoustic magazine
Starting out as young bluegrass prodigies, over the years Mike, Jay and Lucille have broadened and deepened their musical range and influences, as well as their instrumental and vocal prowess. In the process they have created a unique and exceptional body of work, drawing on the industrial heritage and history of the North of England as well as musical traditions from both sides of the Atlantic. With exceptional musicianship, stunning vocals and memorable material, Jaywalkers are up there among the very best.
Tickets are out now online, and paper tickets will soon be available in the village too. Book this one into your diary now!
