Saturday 6th June 2020
The Greystones, Sheffield
We’re sorry to announce that the AJ Lee & Blue Summit gig (and the entire UK tour) has been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 virus crisis. We had only sold a handful of tickets so far as the gig was not until June – our ticket platform Wegottickets will be in touch soon to arrange a refund. Wegottickets are extremely busy at the moment so please bear with us all as we work through this.
AJ Lee & Blue Summit bring an entertaining contemporary approach to bluegrass and Americana, combining virtuoso instrumental work (on mandolin, acoustic guitars, fiddle and double bass) with soaring vocals and sweet harmonies. Formed in 2015, this outstanding young California band also takes in elements of western swing, soul, folk, jazz and pop. A powerful singer, talented mandolinist and gifted songwriter, AJ Lee has been making waves on the acoustic scene for many years, performing with family band The Tuttles (alongside celebrated guitarist Molly Tuttle) since she was just ten! Now in her early 20s, AJ is the bandleader of this stunningly talented quintet.
Blue Summit have performed extensively across the USA and their star has been rising recently, with 2019 seeing the release of their first full length album Like I Used To, which featured 11 original songs by AJ Lee. They also embarked on international touring, including a short UK tour booked by True North Music which included a memorable packed-out show at The Carlile Institute in Meltham. In September last year the band were official showcase artists at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) festival in North Carolina, and AJ Lee won the coveted 2019 IBMA Vocalist Momentum Award. With soulful songs, exceptional musicianship and a charming stage presence, AJ Lee & Blue Summit are sure to delight concert goers on their first visit to Sheffield!
Doors 7.30pm, concert from 8pm. Advance tickets £14. Available online now. Paper tickets will be on sale at the venue soon.
